ATS and AI
Does an ATS reject AI-generated resumes?
No. An applicant tracking system is a database with a parser in front of it, not a detector. It reads your resume into fields — name, employer, dates, skills — and a recruiter searches those fields. There is no step anywhere in that pipeline that asks whether a language model helped you write it. What does get resumes filtered out is much more boring, and much more fixable.

What an ATS actually does
It ingests your file, extracts text, and tries to map that text onto structured fields. Then a human searches or filters on those fields. Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday differ in the details, but none of them run AI-detection on a resume, and none of them publish a model score for your writing. The filtering you are worried about is a recruiter running a search, or a knockout question you answered wrong.
What does get you filtered
Layouts the parser cannot read: two columns, text inside tables, contact details in a header or footer, skills rendered as a graphic or a rating bar, an exported image rather than real text. Then the ordinary mismatches — the posting asks for a specific tool and your resume never names it, or a required-eligibility question was answered in a way that auto-rejects. None of that is about who wrote the words.
Where AI-written resumes do go wrong
Not with the software, with the reader. A model asked for a resume with no other input produces confident, generic prose: strong verbs attached to nothing, responsibilities restated as achievements, no numbers. A recruiter spots it in seconds, and it reads as someone who did not bother. The problem is not that it was generated, it is that it was generated from nothing.
So use the job description as the input
A resume is worth tailoring because the posting tells you which of your real experience matters for this role and in what order. That is the input a model needs. Wynda writes one resume per job from your actual history and that specific description, and exports a real text PDF in a single-column layout so nothing is lost on the way in.
The thing to actually check
Open your PDF and select the text. If you cannot highlight your job titles as text, neither can the parser. Copy the whole document into a plain text editor and read what comes out in order — that is roughly what the ATS sees. If it is scrambled, the layout is the problem, not the wording.
