Ashby spam checks
Your Ashby application was flagged as spam
Ashby's job boards run a check at the moment you press submit, to decide whether a real person is filling in the form. The company doing the hiring picks how aggressive that check is. Ashby documents the setting for the recruiters who configure it; almost nothing is written for the candidate on the other end, which is why this page exists.

What the check is
It is a submit-time bot check, not a judgement about you or your experience. Ashby exposes it to employers as a threshold with a small number of settings, from permissive up to strict, and the employer chooses one. A stricter setting refuses more submissions it is unsure about. Nothing about your work history feeds into it.
What tends to trigger it
The signals these checks generally use are about the session, not the content: automation driving the page rather than a person, a datacentre or VPN address rather than a residential one, a form completed far faster than a human types, or an unusual browser fingerprint. Privacy extensions and aggressive tracker blocking can contribute too, which is why an entirely genuine application sometimes gets caught.
What it means for your application
A refused submission generally means the application did not reach the company. That is the important part, and the reason it is worth noticing: this failure looks like success if you closed the tab. If you did not get a confirmation screen or a confirmation email, do not assume it went through.
What to do about it
Try again from a normal browser window with your VPN off and tracker-blocking extensions paused, and fill the form at human speed rather than pasting everything at once. If it still refuses, apply through the company's own careers page if it has an alternative route, or email the recruiter directly and say the board refused your submission — that is a reasonable thing to write and recruiters would rather hear it than lose a candidate.
Why we are honest about this
Wynda applies to jobs for you, so this filter is a wall we run into as much as you do. Automated submissions from a rented cloud browser get refused by it, which is one of the reasons Wynda applies from your own browser, signed in as you, on your own connection instead. It is not a guarantee, and we do not claim one: when a submission is refused, the run is recorded as failed with the reason named as a bot or captcha block, rather than the application being marked sent.

Apply from your own browser
Wynda fills in the employer's real form in the browser you already use, and tells you plainly when a submission is refused instead of reporting it sent.
